"Oh, that's good. You're delicious."
Cookie's Revenge

Cookie is much more than just a kindred spirit for our lad. As you can see, making up imaginary dialogues for your baby is one of the secret delights of parenting. Thank-you to our friends, Jake and Patricia, who had the brainwave of giving Rhodri a Cookie Monster doll. It is his favourite. He expresses great interest in Cookie's face. And what a face. I wonder how Rhodri will react to his first cookie. It will be a while yet before we're capturing that moment on camera.

First, he'll need some teeth. He is currently showing every indication that a li'l chomper is on the way - plenty of drool, and chewing everything in sight. He loves having his face washed gently with a cloth because we've made a game of it and he is rewarded with a good chew on the cloth each time.

We all visited the public health nurse yesterday for Rhodri's second series of innoculations. The shots weren't as tough on any of us this time, although a mild fever did follow. It was sort of a "Congratulations, your immune system is in good working order." Rhodri now weighs in at a paltry 18lbs 9oz. He is 25.5 inches long. He is napping regularly. No more sleep deprivation for that little boy. I look at pictures of him from early on...his red little eyes with big circles underneath. We couldn't recognize them for the sleepy signs that they were at the time as we were too busy trying to figure out what he needed. Now, the more he sleeps, the more he wants to sleep. Who knew? We have many peaceful times and spend so much time cuddling, all of us. Rhodri is a healthy, contented little person. Clayton and I are so happy that we chose to become parents. Such delight is to be found here.
