I can't believe it's finally over

And good things are just beginning. Did anyone get the number of that truck? It sounds trite but physically no one should ever have to do full time school until the 22nd of December let alone with a little one they'd rather be spending their time with. It's just wrong for exams to go on that long. They're done now, thank-goodness and thank me and thank Clayton and thank Rhodri and thank all of our family and friends who have helped us get through this time.
We look forward to next semester when we'll have caught our breaths and can take a more organized approach to balancing parenting and school. We'll also be able to show off all of our cool parenting tricks. We're getting the hang of this. The l'il dude is happy as are Clayton and I. Rhodri is a bountiful 16 + pounds. He's not walking yet, of course, but he sure is talking. What a funny little guy. He gurgles and babbles away while we talk. He seems to be looking at it as a group activity rather than taking turns speaking. He is having an on-again, off-again friendship with the quilt on the back of the chair in which we breastfeed. He loves to talk to it but seems to get frustrated with its stony silence. He loves to gum his little hands, his tiny teddy bear and his blue elephant. Oh, and he has the most enchanting smile. I am truly surprised that I have not kissed him to death yet. In fact, he seems to like the hundred million kisses I give him each day. What a love. He is the smartest and strongest and most wonderful baby ever.
Tomorrow we do errands including mailing everyone's excessively late Xmas gifts. Sorry guys, better late than never. Then maybe we'll rent a Christmas movie. Oh the luxury - a movie!
And now for a long winter's nap...wait a second, that guy in the story never got his nap did he?! Blast.
And the happiest of holidays to all, and to all a goodnight.

"Merry Xmas, Little Man!!! Best wishes for the new year, the second year for you already... Well done! I can hardly wait to hang out again, together. You seem a real happy little chap, and I think that's just the right approach to the life ahead, cause it's going to be packed full of adventures and good stuff, and successes." Says Grosspa J.
