Keeping the ball rolling
Hi all,
No pictures yet. Sorry. I'm delighted to find that people do still check the blog though. Our main computer is down. So, for now it's words, mere words.
We are doing well at work. It is not bad at all being articling students. However, 40 hours a week each (Clayton and Aurora at work and Rhodri working hard at daycare) is too much for this family. It will be nice to be called and then become masters of our own destinies.
Rhodri is really enjoying daycare. There are 6 other kids there and they all seem to get along splendidly. He naps now for an hour and a half to two hours each day. When he is tired he goes to the sofa and lies down with his little head on a little pillow. Donna the amazing daycare lady puts a blanket on him and that's it. He's out. This is a major change from the strolling, nursing, singing, humming, patting, walking to NOT sleeping we had struggled with since day 0. How cool. The best part is that he's happy. He's still big and lovely. He smiles a lot.
Rhodri's new skills include
- sitting at the dinner table on a chair to eat (no highchair!)
- climbing up on a dining chair all by himself and sitting down
- climbing up onto the dining table from the dining chair...also all by himself...you knew it was coming. All you nail biters, fear not. This is not a parent-condoned activity.
- raking leaves in the back yard
- throwing a ball, forward, hard enough that we're delighted he can do it and slightly worried about our faces
Rhodri's current favourites
- reading books, a perennial
- eating noodles
- eating boursin off of crackers and leaving the crackers
- hugging bears
- hugging Daddy
- hugging Mommy
- blowing kisses
- saying by while waving
Rhodri's newest treats for us
- doing little running on the spot and tiptoeing ballet dances
- laughing at jokes (watching Over the Hedge, he thought the possum playing dead was most amusing. This is the first joke we've heard him laugh at. And he now throws himself on the floor and laughs.)
And we hope reading this has been a treat for you. We are happy and healthy and spending some good quality time together.
Hope you are all well too.
Luv,
A, C + R

Hi, Aurora, Clayton & Rhodri!
So good to hear some news! Well done!
Just wanted to let you know we have a new email address: sigcar@xplorenet.com
I lost most of my email addresses when our old computer crashed last summer, so it's been a waiting game. Perhaps pass this new address along to Grosspa as well
Love you guys, glad to hear things are going well!!!

Hi guys - great to see new pictures. Loved our evening with you - it was so good to meet our great nephew finally - he is an absolute doll! Looking forward to being closer to all of you - not long now - only a couple of months - we'll be into the hunting for a place to live mode within the next month! The big day to pull the pin is 27 April - a little scary - you're just getting into the working world - and I'm leaving it - at least for a little while. There's something about losing the structure that working gives you that's a little frightening! We're still talking about the great vegetarian dinner - we'll have to do it again - maybe to celebrate finally living in God's country! Take care - love to all of you.
Darryl and Cheryll
